Lately I have begun making my own cleaning products to save money, and avoid unwanted chemicals. It has been such a blast! Each recipe is like a science experiment, and the results have been phenomenal! I have successfully made and am using home made dish soap, deodorant, toilet bowl cleaner, surface cleaner, and anti-static hair spritz! All of these are from recipes I found on Pinterest.
Since I have been having so much fun whipping up these supplies, I decided to try making a dandruff treatment. I found one online, but didn't much care for it because it was only good for three days. I also found a bunch of suggestions for home remedies you could rub in your hair, but nothing you could mix together and use like a shampoo.
So, after some research on ingredients that work, I decided to formulate my own recipe! I mixed it up in the kitchen and transferred it to an empty shampoo bottle. It started to bubble over a little, so I let it settle down over night in the sink with the cap open.
The next morning, I gave it a try. After shampooing my hair like normal, I scrubbed some of the concoction into my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing, then conditioned like normal.
The results were amazing and instant. No dandruff! So, I decided to share it with the world in case you want to give it a try.
For a winter with only the snow kind of flakes:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup baking soda
1tsp grape seed oil
10 aspirin pills
10 drops of tea tree oil
Disclaimer: Some people react to ACV and/or tea tree oil on their skin. Please be sure of your own reaction to these products before use.
Begin by crushing up the aspirin into a powder. In a large bowl, mix Asprin powder with baking soda. Add water and stir until the baking soda is mostly dissolved. Add grape seed and tea tree oil and stir. Slowly add vinegar. It will bubble and fizz a bit, don't worry, it will eventually calm down. Once it has, transfer it to a bottle and use as directed above! That's it! I hope you love it!
